Revival’s Reconnect Service: helping over 55s in Cheshire East reconnect with their local community

Amanda from Nantwich was referred to the service because she needed help living independently at home.

Community Home Support Worker Sarah stepped in to help and says:

“When I first spoke to Amanda she was struggling with her anxiety. She was needing repairs to her home and was wanting Revival to help arrange and support her through the process.

“She was struggling to maintain her home, so I set up a monthly cleaning service and helped arrange repairs too.”

Revival’s support services offer a fully-rounded approach to make sure customers are safe at home. As well as helping Amanda maintain her home Sarah also made sure she was safe and well too.

“I spoke to Amanda about her home life and talked through a support plan to help her feel her best again.

“I arranged a medication delivery to make sure she never goes without.

“She was feeling isolated and alone, so I referred her to a local befriending service. They paired her up with a local volunteer, and now they regularly meet up for a coffee and a chat.

“To help Amanda get out of the house we researched local wildlife places with nearby bus links that she could visit. I also found information on local bus routes and timetables in her local area.

Amanda's now visiting all of the local wildlife places, one by one.

“Because of the support provided Amanda is no longer spending long periods of time alone. She’s getting out of her house and into her community and it’s helping to rebuild her confidence one step at a time.”
